East–West Love

East–West Love [2024]

Tito is precise, controlled, and allergic to unpredictability. When she plans a surprise trip to Mombasa, Kenya for her boyfriend, Chudi, it’s meant to seal a carefully mapped-out future. Instead, she uncovers his betrayal and immediately tries to cancel the trip—only to discover refunds are impossible. Reluctantly, and at the insistence of her spirited best friend and flatmate, Jummai, Tito agrees to turn the getaway into a girls’ trip.

In Mombasa, Tito keeps her guard firmly up—until she meets Juma, a charming local who disarms her with ease and honesty. He tells her he’s in town for a hotel management role, and as their connection deepens, Tito allows herself something unfamiliar: softness without a plan.

But when Tito discovers the truth—that Juma’s parents own the hotel chain and he is in Mombasa to eventually take over—she feels blindsided. Though Juma never intended to deceive her, Tito sees the omission as a betrayal of trust. Hurt and furious, she cuts the trip short and returns to Nigeria, retreating once again into control and certainty.

Back home, chaos awaits. Chudi is determined to win her back, clinging to the comfort of familiarity. Meanwhile, Juma follows Tito to Nigeria, unwilling to let their connection end in misunderstanding. As Tito prepares for a high-stakes product launch, she is forced to confront not just two men vying for her heart, but her own fear of vulnerability.

Set between the laid-back beauty of Mombasa and the fast-paced energy of Nigeria, East–West Love is a romantic comedy about trust, emotional honesty, and learning that love isn’t about perfection or plans—but about choosing courage over control.
